We will explore using drypoint tools to create varied mark-making in your drypoint image. We will use different inking techniques to print your image in moody monochrome and subtle colour.

Using simple book binding techniques dating back to the 2nd Century, learn how to make your very own coptic bound notebook or sketchbook with a decorative hardback cover.

Carborundum Printing Weekend

9th - 10th December 10am - 4:30pm £130

Carborundum grit is used in printing to gave rich, dark areas of colour. We will cover grit application, inking, printing techniques and also add drypoint mark making to add linear marks to the image.

Colour Cardcut Printing day

Spend the day exploring the delights of this simple image making technique, creating bold images by cutting and scoring into card. We will ink these in a range of colours to create dramatic prints.

Etching Masterclass with Jason Hicklin 25th - 26th November - Fully Booked

Over the past thirteen years we have developed a programme of printmaking Masterclasses taught by renowned resident and visiting Artist/Printmakers expert in their chosen practice.

For this final Masterclass of the year, we welcome Jason Hicklin to the workshop. Course participants will have the opportunity to work with Jason further developing etching plates they have already produced and get tips and expect advice from Jason on paper preparation, ink mixing, registration and plate wiping.

The Foundation in Printmaking.

The only course of its kind in the South of England. This course is ideal for people who are looking for a more in-depth course than our single technique and introductory courses. The Monday morning foundation course is now full, due to demand we are now offering an additional Wednesday afternoon course starting 6th September.

The Diploma in Printmaking.

This is the next level course after The Foundation in Printmaking. Students need to have completed the Foundation course to attend this course. We are now taking bookings from current and previous Foundation students for the course commencing Wednesday 6th September 2017

Evening course:

1 2 1 tuition

We offer 1 2 1 tuition for individuals who require a focused session on a particular printmaking technique. In recent years we have worked with trainee teachers, tutors working in further and higher education and members of the public who are unable to attend our scheduled courses.
1 2 1 sessions can be booked on any day convenient to you when we do not have a scheduled course running. Contact us for prices and to discuss this further or to book 1 2 1 tuition.

Introduction to Printmaking Course

Our popular Introduction to Printmaking courses are an ideal starting point if you want to try out some printmaking techniques. On this course you will cover the basics of three different printmaking techniques; Monoprinting, Cardcuts and Etching. You will also become familiar with working in a purpose made print workshop.

Evening course:

Beginners and Improvers in Printmaking Course - FULLY BOOKED

This course has been designed to be an introduction and improver course all in one. With tuition from two expert artist printmakers, Sarah Mander and Katherine Anteney you are guaranteed to get a great introduction to these printmaking techniques; Cardcuts, Drypoint, Linocutting, Monoprinting and Etching.

Several people have gone on to do The Foundation in Printmaking after completing this course.
